Visiting local authorities to find out about the amazing work you are doing on behalf of your residents is one of the most enjoyable, but also humbling, parts of my role as Chair of the LGA.
The Household Support Fund was a lifeline to councils and their communities when it was first introduced in October 2021.
It’s been a whirlwind of change since the general election – at the LGA, locally, and nationally.
There has recently been significant focus on how councils can ensure the right homes for children in their care, as well as how kinship arrangements can be strengthened to help more children stay safely with their wider families.
